Events at Westonbirt, The National Arboretum

At Westonbirt Arboretum's Community Woodland we are re-planting an area of woodland cleared due to ash dieback. Every step of the woodland regeneration is being carried out by volunteers, community groups and schools.
Come along and help with the project with a day of mulching and tree care.
This day will involve a 20 minute guided walk from the Welcome Building to our planting site where we will carry out a variety of maintenance tasks including mulching around the trees, checking and re-applying their guards and surveying tree health. All equipment and training will be provided and visitors will be able to work within their comfort zones carrying out as many or as little of these tasks as they would like.
There will also be self-led scavenger hunts and craft activities running if you need a break from the physical work.

Cost: Day admission entry to Westonbirt Arboretum + £1 non-refundable booking fee
Tickets include entry to the Arboretum from 9am and you can stay as long as you would like.
Please meet us at The Welcome Building at 10am for this event, the event will finish at 1pm.
In addition to our standard terms and conditions the following terms also apply to this event:
*All children must be accompanied by an adult
*Dogs are not permitted for this event (with the exception of assistance dogs)
*The planting site cannot be accessed by a wheelchair or mobility scooter.
*Hot drinks and biscuits will be provided. Please bring a packed lunch and any additional refreshments if required
*A welfare van and toilet will be provided at the planting site.
*We will be outside at the planting site for the whole session, please dress for the weather outdoors in clothes you don't mind getting muddy and wear suitable footwear.
