Imagine you’ve had a wonderful day in the forest, busy with activities or just soaking up the sights and sounds of nature. You don’t want to go home and lose that sense of peace that comes with spending time outdoors.
But what if you didn’t have to? We offer a range of places to stay in forests across the country, from traditional campsites to motorhome parking spots and stylish woodland lodges. Whatever type of holiday-maker you are, there’s a forest stay for you.

More than just a place to stay
When you take a break in a Forestry England location, you’re not just booking accommodation. You’re also getting a world of forest fun to discover, whether it’s family adventures with Stick Man, riding the world-class mountain bike trails, wildlife spotting or adrenaline-fueled high-rope treetop experiences and Segways with Go Ape.
Dog-friendly forest stays
All Forest Holidays locations and most of our campsites are dog-friendly, so they can enjoy the adventure too. Why not treat your happy hound to the best dog walk ever and find the nearest Forest Walkies with Wallace & Gromit trail?
Camping in the heart of the forest
Picture waking to the sound of rustling leaves and wildlife in the woodlands just next to your tent, and you’ve just imagined staying at a Forestry England campsite. With 14 sites to choose from, nestled deep within some of the nation’s favourite and most famous forests, you’ll find a campsite to suit every pitch type and budget.
Everything you need, including the kitchen sink
Many of our sites provide everything you need to for a comfortable and convenient camping trip, with facilities such as laundry rooms, dog-washing stations, on-site shops, play areas, children’s events and more.
Back-to-nature campsites
If you’re looking for all the thrills but with less of the frills,we’ve got you covered with some back-to-nature options. Several of our campsites offer an experience closer to wild camping, surrounded by ancient woodlands, with wildlife for your neighbours. Some of these sites are closed over winter, so it’s best to check the opening dates with the operator before making plans.
Forest glamping
No tent? No problem! Most Forestry England campsites offer a range of glamping options, including bell and safari tents and cosy wooden pods. At Sherwood Pines there’s even a geodome for views of the night sky as you relax among the trees.
