Nestled at the base of the North York Moors National Park, Cropton Forest is an idyllic coniferous forest that is brimming with an abundance of wildlife.

With two Forest Holidays sites located within the forest, it's the perfect place to switch off. The North York Moors Railway runs through the edges of Cropton Forest and offers the chance to see the forest by steam train.

Cropton Forest is host to one of four locations across England where Forestry England are carrying out our Wild Core Areas programme: Wild Newtondale.
