Hourly parking charge introduction at Dalby Forest

From Saturday 1 February 2025, Dalby Forest is changing to an hourly parking charge structure. We have had a range of feedback from our visitors and identified that shorter stays are something many of our visitors would like to explore. Below are some suggestions on the types of activities you can do within each of these timings.

What can I do with my shorter stay options?

Up to 30 minutesTake in the breathtaking scenery as you drive along the Dalby Forest drive from end to end.
Up to 1 hour7 walking trails (not including travel time), Ellerburn green cycle trail, Parkrun on Saturdays, 3 running trails (Up to 5km in distance), Lawn games and table tennis at the Visitor centre, Have a picnic in the forest, Birdwatching , Forest Arts, Nissen Hut, Courtyard Exhibition space, Cafe visits.
Up to 2 hours7 additional walking trails (not including travel time), Adderstone green cycle trail (short), Jubilee blue cycle trail or 1 section of the red cycle route, 10km Staindale running route, Seivedale Junior orienteering course, Gruffalo party trail, Gruffalo orienteering course, Wellbeing trail, Lumberjills Treasure Trail.
Up to 3 hours2 additional walking trails (not including travel time), Adderstone green cycle trail (long) or 2 sections of the red cycle route, Run a combined trail run using various trails, Seivedale senior orienteering course, Dalby Activity Centre – Book separately.
Up to 4 hoursCombine walks for more miles, cycle the entire red cycle route, run a combined trail run using various trails, Adderstone orienteering courses.
Over 4 hoursMix and match any of the above activities for a full day experience such as: Cafe and the red cycling route, Visit arts in the forest and have a picnic, Combine walking trails, Have fun with lawn games (weather dependent) and take on the Gruffalo/Stickman Trail before finishing with drinks at our on-site cafes.

Changes from our previous structure

  • Parking charges will remain the same throughout the year and applies to cars, vans, motorhomes/campervans, minibuses, coaches and blue-badge holders. 
  • Seasonal rates and lower prices from 4pm will no longer apply.
