There are an additional 27 cubicles and urinals. Baby changing is available in both toilet facilities.

Needing help

Our friendly staff are first aid trained and can be found in the visitor centre between 9am and 4pm. There is also a 'call point' located to the left of the visitor centre doors.

Arriving at the forest

Sherwood Pines has one central car park and three overflow car parks. The main car park is closest to the visitor centre.

There is a bus stop just outside of Sherwood Pines on the main road (B6030), approximately half a mile from the visitor centre.

Car parking

There are seven accessible parking spaces in the central car park, located on the first row of spaces. They are signposted.

Parking is not free and an ANPR (automatic number plate recognition) system is in place. Payment is made via touch-screen machines that only accept card payments. Payment via cash or mobile apps is not available.

The visitor centre

Access to the visitor centre is on a hard surfaced path, with slight gradient, approximately 150-300m from the car park (depending on where you've parked). The double doors open outwards and are 190cm wide when both are open. They are not power assisted.

Inside the visitor centre there is a hearing loop, seating for first-aid and a cafe with ramp. Music is not played.

Getting out in the forest

The Archer's Stroll trail is a one-mile circular trail and is an all-weather, surfaced loop suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs. Starting from the visitor centre, follow the white arrows.
