Forestry England is committed to sustainably managing the nation's forests. The timber harvested from our woodlands is used for a variety of purposes, including building materials, furniture, and paper. We adhere to strict national and international standards for sustainable forestry, ensuring responsible use of our resources.
To continue this vital work, we are currently carrying out timber harvesting operations at Sherwood Pines. This means there will be some temporary closures and diversions in place for visitor safety.
What you need to know:
- Follow the signs: Please pay close attention to the instructions on site, as these will clearly indicate where you can and can't go and send you on diversions around operational areas. These may change daily depending on the work activities.
- Weekends included: Closures and diversions remain in effect throughout the week, including weekends, even if harvesting machinery appears to be inactive.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to maintain a healthy and productive forest. For more information about our sustainable forest management practices.
