Kate Cheetham, Board Member

Kate is the Chief Legal Officer and Company Secretary of Lloyds Banking Group (LBG) plc. As well as advising the Board and Senior Executives on legal and governance matters and sitting on the executive committee, Kate is responsible for the strategic leadership and management of LBG’s full-service Legal and Secretariat function. Kate joined LBG in 2005, holding a number of senior positions before her current role, including Deputy Group General Counsel and General Counsel for Group Legal. 

Before joining LBG, Kate was a corporate lawyer at Linklaters, specialising in mergers and acquisitions. Prior to that, Kate ran a commercial art gallery in London. Kate is passionate about inclusion and diversity and within LBG is an Executive Ally of the Group’s social mobility agenda and previously co-chaired Breakthrough, LBG’s women’s network. Kate was a Trustee of the Lloyds Bank Foundation for England and Wales for seven years, shaping their partnering with small and local charities, people and communities working towards a more just and compassionate society.
