Ramblers Beechenhurst trail

Beechenhurst trail

The Beechenhurst trail is an 8-mile Ramblers route exploring the wider Forest of Dean. The trail passes through some of the oldest and most varied woodland.

Starting at Beechenhurst, the trail visits the Cyril Hart Arboretum before looping around Cannop Ponds. It then heads uphill to Bixslade, which was once a hive of industrial activity and historic features still remain. At the top of the hill, the trail crosses the road to come through Wimberry Slade and Worcester Walk. The trail then drops down the hill towards the Forest of Dean Cycle Centre, before crossing the road again and joining the Sculpture Trail to bring you back to Beechenhurst.

This trail is not fully waymarked and so an OS Explorer Map OL14 is advised. More information can be found at fodramblers.org.uk.
