Essentials

Toilets

We have 10 toilets, of which one is accessible. They are next to the cafe building and do not require a key.  The accessible toilet does not have a power assisted door.

Changing places

We do not have a Changing Places facility on site.

Needing help

Our friendly staff are onsite between 9am and 4pm and can be found in our welcome point, at the front of the Forestry England office.

Arriving at the forest

We have one car park, split into two and connected by a short road, they are both close to the visitor centre. There are no barriers on entering the carpark.

There are no public bus routes that pass the visitor centre or car park, the nearest train station is Rugeley Town train station 2.4 miles away.

Car park

We have 12 accessible parking bays. The car park is not free.

There are seven touchscreen pay machines across both areas of the car park, the machines have a help button if needed.

The visitor centre

Access to the visitor welcome point is on a flat path that runs in front of the office building and to the power assisted door.

Inside the welcome point there are three chairs, we have a hearing loop.

In the cafe there are tables and chairs as well as booth seating. Music is played in the cafe.

Getting out in the forest

We don't have mobility equipment to hire at Cannock. We recommend our Ladyhill Trail for use with wheelchairs and all-terrain mobility scooters, a mostly flat circular one mile trail.

Seating and shelter

There are plenty of benches to take a rest around the site. Apart from the visitor centre and cafe there are no sheltered seating areas.

Trails and activities

Lots of our walking and cycling trails are comfortable for a range of abilities. See our things to do page for inspiration.
