Verderers trail
Verderers trail at the Forest of Dean Cycle Centre
Often referred to as one of the best blue-graded trails in the country, the Verderers Trail is an exciting and adventurous ride.
You will encounter different surface types, switchback climbs and flowing descents. There are plenty of features along the trail to help hone your skills such as rollers and berms. There is a gentle uphill climb through the forest with some tricky challenges along the way. The final descent, known as the Dragon's Tail, is a fast, flowing finish that will leave you coming back for more.
Trail name
The Verderers Trail is named after the Forest of Dean’s Verderers Court, which is a tradition dating back 800 years. There are four Verderers for the Forest of Dean, and they meet throughout the year to discuss issues of relevance to the vert (the woodlands and open lands) and venison (the deer) within the Statutory Forest of Dean.
