Horse riding at Chawton Park Woods

Chawton Park Wood provides some fantastic places to ride your horse. From May 2025 equestrians can enjoy riding off bridleway on permissive routes throughout Chawton Park Forest without requiring any permit from Forestry England or TROT. Shared use of the forests requires patience and respect for fellow visitors.  Please adhere to any signed no-go areas.

Commercial activity or carriage drivers requiring barrier access will still need to apply for a permission via southern.permissions@forestryengland.uk  

Horse box parking will continue to be available at Chawton Wood Car Park.
