Flower at Dalby Forest
Flower by Michael Bennett, 2023
Inspiration for the sculpture came from observing nature interacting with the man-made. A group of lawnmowers left in the garden for years were slowly becoming engulfed as the flowers and weeds grew around and through them. Here the parts of the lawn mower have been reworked to transform into the flora amongst them. Lawnmower blades, handles and driveshafts metamorphosed into this hybrid of nature and machine, now merging with the wilderness of the forest.
