Essentials
Toilets
We have 27 toilets of which one is accessible. There are also three family rooms with two toilets in each. All are situated in the visitor welcome centre.
Changing places
There is a Changing Places facility on site, also situated in the visitor welcome centre. The key for the facility can be collected from the café.
Needing help
Our friendly staff are first aid trained and can be found at the visitor welcome desk and around the forest.
Arriving at the forest
We have four car parks, the main ANPR one is the nearest to the visitor centre. There are two barriers to enter and exit, operated by ANPR.
Delamere Forest has its own train station stop located next to one of our car parks, Treetops. There’s a path from the Treetops car park to our main car park and visitor centre.
Car park
We have 16 accessible parking bays at our main ANPR car park. The car park is not free.
The parking machines are card only and have a help button if you need it. You can also pay with a mobile phone using the RingGo app.
The visitor centre
To access the visitor centre from the car park there is a wide flat path, with paving slabs at the pedestrianised area.
The visitor centre has one 75cm wide automatic door and a manual bifold door of 210cm wide. These are opened every morning.
The cafe does not have specific accessible seating but plenty of space to move chairs away if needed. Low music is played in the cafe.
There is a hearing loop situated in the visitor centre.
Getting out in the forest
One all-terrain mobility scooter is available to hire from the visitor centre at Delamere Forest and must be booked in advance through Outdoor Mobility. For more information on booking a scooter please visit Outdoor Mobility. *Booking terms apply.
Our shortest trail is the green trail at 2.1 miles long.
Seating and shelter
There are plenty of benches to take a rest around the site. We have some accessible benches, for wheelchair users and families to sit together in front of the visitor centre and by the side of the café.
Apart from the visitor centre and cafe there is a sheltered seating area next to the main office, close to the visitor centre at the start of all the trails.
