Discover the bats that call Bedgebury home
Step into the world of nocturnal wildlife and go on a Bat Walk as part of our 24-hour Centenary Bioblitz.
Did you know Bedgebury is home to six species of bats? This is your chance to see and hear them in action as darkness falls.
What to expect
Join local bat expert David Scully near sunset, armed with bat detectors, to search for these elusive creatures. Learn about their fascinating behaviours, echolocation calls, and the vital role they play in our ecosystem.
A previous BioBlitz recorder described witnessing a spectacular bat display at Bedgebury as:
“A 'bucket list’ wildlife item to witness. No need to travel halfway across the world, no need to wait until a wildlife film crew arrives to subsequently broadcast it into your living room.”
Spaces for this event are limited so early booking is recommended.
