Join us at Hamsterley Forest on Wednesday 16 April to enjoy a fun day out and discover the range of activities we offer to help you plan your perfect class trip to the forest.
What to expect
A relaxed environment where you can chat to us, find out what is on offer, get to know the site and try out some activities.
Choose a 10am - 12pm or 1pm - 3pm session when booking. At your chosen time, come and see us in the Pine room. To find us, head towards the cafe from the car park. The door to the Pine room is off the courtyard next to the cafe.
When you arrive at the pine room, help yourself to refreshments and give us your number plate to claim your free parking.

- Discover the resources you can hire and activities you can do with your pupils at Hamsterley Forest.
- Find out about our lesson plans and resources which you can use in your school grounds or local woodland.
- Explore our brand-new Stick Man education pack and follow the Stick Man trail.
- Talk to cycle4adventure about exploring the forest by bike.
- Join Forestry England staff outside to have a go at some of the activities you can use on site with your pupils.
- Take a map of the site and check out the areas we’ve highlighted as the perfect places to take your group.
- Hot and cold drinks and biscuits are available in the Pine room – please bring your own reusable cup/water bottle if you have one.

The event is aimed at anyone who is looking for inspiration for a school trip to the forest. You might be an early years educator, teaching assistant or school governor.
How do I book?

Can I arrive earlier or stay later than my booked session?
Yes! Please do. We would love you to enjoy a day out in the forest with your family or friends. Take some time out in nature and enjoy our playgrounds. At the time of your booked session come and see us in the Pine room.
How do I claim my free parking?
You will get free parking for one car. When you attend your booked session tell us your number plate and you will be given a code for your free parking.
Can I bring anyone with me?
You get free parking for one car so please feel free to bring family or friends with you. Children (and adults) in your group are welcome to try out our activities.
