Activity timetable for Feel Good activities at Guisborough Forest

Guisborough Forest offers a range of activities as part of our Feel Good in the Forest programme. These activities are free to take part in and include optional time at the end for refreshments and socialising. You can self-refer to the project or be referred by a support organisation or worker.

You must book your space and register in advance to take part.

Tai Chi

Join others to take part in mindful movement and enjoy the ancient practice of Tai Chi in the forest. This session aims to introduce you to this gentle exercise to aid flexibility, strength and balance and will include some mindfulness and relaxation. These sessions are delivered by an experienced instructor and can be adapted to suit the needs to those attending.

Walking photography

These sessions are designed to help you improve your photography skills with a camera or smart phone. They are in a safe, supportive and friendly environment and include time to share and socialise after each session.

Forest Yoga

These sessions are designed for beginners and include a warm-up, standing poses, and a cooldown whilst taking in the healing benefits of nature and the forest. Feel Good Beginners Running Course

Dates and times

The course will run weekly for 9 weeks commencing on Tuesday 29 April

These sessions are designed for total beginners with the aim of being able to run for 30 minutes at your own pace by the end of the 9-week course.

A typical session will include social time, a gentle warm up, exercises that will compliment your growing running fitness, and a running session which will include alternating between running and walking. In week 1 you won’t be running longer than a minute at a time. You will also have the choice to be part of a Facebook group for support and motivation outside of these sessions as well as being given 2 ‘homework’ sessions per week.

Guisborough Walking Festival

Join us from the 12-18 May to celebrate National Walking Month at Guisborough Forest. There will be numerous free guided walks throughout the week to attend delivered by our staff and partners who deliver wellbeing services throughout the Tees Valley. We are currently working on our final timetable and how to book so please keep an eye out on our website social media for further details.

Mind Over Mountains walks

Dates and times

Saturday 17 May morning and afternoon

Wednesday 3 July morning and afternoon

These walks will be gentle, half day strolls through our forest guided by a Mind Over Mountains walk leader who will show you the way; and you will be accompanied by an experienced coach and a counsellor who can offer 1-2-1 and group wellbeing support as you walk. The walks also include mindfulness sessions learning how to use time walking in nature to support your wellbeing longer term. The walks are completely free of charge - but must be booked in advance. Numbers are limited so that group sizes stay small and friendly, offering a chance to walk and talk and share together. A no pressure, no judgement way to get some support if you or someone you care about are facing mental health challenges, loneliness or feeling in need of some support.
