Gruffalo Orienteering at Haldon Forest Park

Gruffalo Orienteering

A fun family map reading challenge

Head off the beaten track with our fun, navigational challenge at Haldon Forest Park. Use a Gruffalo-themed orienteering map to find twelve markers hidden in the deep, dark wood.

If you're feeling competitive, choose to run, walk (or skip!) the course against the clock. Before you begin the trail, pick up a Gruffalo orienteering leaflet with a certificate and map for just £1.50 from the Info Pod.

Who is this activity for?

Gruffalo orienteering is a map reading challenge aimed at older children. For younger children, we recommend the Gruffalo Party activity trail. Our rangers are happy to advise at the Info Pod.

What to expect

Gruffalo orienteering is based around the Discovery trail, but some of the markers are off the main trail.

The trail is suitable for pushchairs. The whole course can be accessed with our all-terrain mobility scooters. Manual wheelchairs and other mobility scooters can reach most of the course.
