Hurn Forest Walking Trail
Our 1.5km waymarked trail takes you through the forest on a circular route. The walking trail has a smooth surface with some softer ground in places.
Most of the trees you’ll see here are conifers that are well suited to the local soils. The open areas of heathland, wide tracks (or rides), ponds and ditches provide an excellent home for insects and reptiles, including Britain’s rarest reptile, the Smooth Snake. The ponds and ditches also help to store excess rainwater and act as natural firebreaks.
