Essentials

Toilets

We have one toilet block with eight cubicles and urinals, there is one accessible toilet at the front in the centre of the block.

The accessible toilet door is 850mm wide and doesn't need a key.

Changing places

We don't have a Changing Places facility.

Needing help

We have a site ranger around the site, if you need to contact them staff in the cafe can help.

Arriving at the forest

There are two car parks at Symonds Yat Rock. Follow the signs from the main road, they are close together.

There are no public transport options.

Car park

The car park near the cafe and viewpoint has 10 unmarked bays for blue badge holders, access to the start of the trails and cafe is to the side of a wooden barrier and across a hard and firm path with some loose stones. The space at the side of the barrier is around 1050mm.

The larger car park near the toilets has another five accessible parking bays.

The parking machines are in front of the toilets. Only card payment is accepted, you can also pay on your phone using RingGo.

Cafe

We have a log cabin café with outdoor seating. There are no doors into the café and no seating inside.

No music is played and we don't have a hearing loop.

Getting out in the forest

Access from the main lower car park to the Symonds Yat Rock cafe, walking trails and viewpoints are via a surfaced uphill sloped pathway. The entrance to the pathway is around 1400mm wide.

You can hire an all-terrain mobility scooter to use at Symonds Rock Yat from Forest Holidays. There is an off road two mile trail linking the two sites which can be used by the scooter.

Seating and shelter

There are plenty of perch points and benches along the main entrance path and picnic benches located around Symonds Yat Rock Café. The ground around this area is mostly flat, however it is unsurfaced and there are some small stones.

One of the benches near the cafe has space for wheelchairs.

Trails and activities

The Symonds Yat Rock viewpoint is our most accessible trail, it is well surfaced and has resting places along the way.

From the Symonds Yat Rock Cafe, the trail is 200m to the viewpoint. The narrowest section of trail is around 1450mm.

Lots of our trails and activities are comfortable for a range of abilities. See our Things to Do page for inspiration.
