Highmeadow trail at Symonds Yat Rock

The Highmeadow trail

This is an 11-mile circular walk by the Forest of Dean Ramblers which features stunning views, a ferry crossing and a footbridge over the River Wye.

This is a demanding but rewarding walk with steep hills, starting at Symonds Yat Rock car park. Look out for King Arthur's Cave and the Seven Sister Rocks along the way.

Included in the details of the map guide which can be downloaded from the Ramblers website are two variants of the route: a 13 mile route that does not use the ferry, and a 9 mile route that does not cross the river.  It may be muddy in places and is followed in an anti-clockwise direction. It is not suitable for wheelchairs.
