Learning outcomes

• understand how coppice management is a sustainable management practice.
• be involved in practical conservation through coppicing.
• consider how their work will impact on the biodiversity of the coppice coupe and overall woodland ecosystem.

Activity

Take part in coppice restoration at Westonbirt Arboretum using hand tools such a pull saws, bow saws, loppers and mallets.  Coppice, process cut material into different products and restock through layering techniques.
