Global Conservation Consortia
Forestry England and Westonbirt Arboretum are actively involved in supporting global tree conservation work by participating in the Global Conservation Consortia (GCC).
Botanic Gardens Conservation International (BGCI) coordinates The Global Conservation Consortia. Westonbirt is a member of BGCI.
Each consortium enables groups of institutions and experts to collaboratively develop and implement comprehensive strategies to prevent extinction of priority threatened plant groups and to share vital tree species recovery knowledge.
Westonbirt leads the Global Conservation Consortium for Whitebeams, Rowans and Service Trees and is also actively involved in the work of the Global Conservation Consortia for Acer, Conifers and Nothofagus.
