Small oak gate hurdle making
Event details
-
Events at Westonbirt, The National Arboretum
- The Coppice Compound
Gate hurdles make the perfect addition to any garden. Use them to prop up plants, create borders or keep pets from walking on seedlings.
Over the course of the two days, participants will learn how to cleave oak from larger logs and split them into useable pieces. Using traditional tools and techniques the pieces will be carefully shaped and joints will then be cut. The gate hurdles will be then assembled with braces, to make a strong and long lasting feature for the garden.
